• Welding Processes: Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW), Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW), Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW), and Flux-Cored Arc Welding (FCAW)
• Metallurgy for Welders: Understanding base metals, filler metals, heat-affected zones (HAZ), and weldability
• Weld Joint Design & Preparation: Types of joints, preparation techniques, and the importance of proper fit-up for strong welds
• Welding Codes and Standards: AWS D1.1 Structural Welding Code, ASME Section IX Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code, and other relevant codes and standards
• Welding Inspection and Testing: Visual inspection, non-destructive testing (NDT) methods including radiography, ultrasonic testing, and magnetic particle inspection
• Health and Safety in Welding: Personal protective equipment (PPE), hazard identification, risk assessment, and safe welding practices
